Terms and definitions

Additional IP (also known as alias IP) - an additional or alternative network address assigned to a device, interface, or server. This allows the device to be reachable under multiple network addresses. Additional IP is used for load balancing, failover, or accommodating multiple network services on a single device.

Bare metal server (also known as a dedicated server or physical server) - a server that operates directly on the underlying hardware without the need for an additional layer of virtualization.

Dedicated server – a hardware computing device entirely allocated to a single client, provided by servers.com as a service.

Direct Connect – a service providing a network connection between premises (such as office, custom equipment, or other hosting providers) and the servers.com infrastructure in the Global Private Network. It allows for reaching our services within the Global Private Network, directly bypassing other providers. 

Enterprise locations – physical or geographical data center locations.

L3 Fabrics – both private and public networks of servers.com, based on OSI Layer 3.
